We focus on homes — not commercial, not new-build sub-trades, not field-service contracts. Just heating, cooling and water heating for Toronto residences, run as a co-operative.
Who we are
Residential specialists, working in the city we live in.
Co-Op Heating and Cooling is a Toronto-based co-operative serving homeowners across the city core, East York, Scarborough, North York and Etobicoke. Every job we take is residential — single-family homes, semis, townhouses, and the occasional small multi-unit owned by a family.
We are deliberately not a big-box outfit and we don’t chase commercial contracts. The work we do best is the work that fits a basement utility room and gets used twelve months a year.
How we work
Plain-language quotes. Clean job sites. Receipts that explain themselves.
Our promise to a customer is small and specific: show up when we said, leave the basement cleaner than we found it, write a receipt a non-tradesperson can read, and tell you what we’d watch on the next visit.
Our promise to a teammate is also small and specific: a fair share of the company’s success, a vote in how it’s run, and the time and tools to do the work properly.

Stewardship
We treat your home and the company itself as something to be left in better shape than we found it. That means careful work in the basement, and careful decisions in the boardroom.

Quotes show line items. Diagnoses show evidence. Profit-share figures are reported back to members each year. If we don’t know, we say so.

Clean work
Drop sheets, vacuumed sawdust, labelled valves, photos of the install. The basement should look like a finished job, not a field hospital.

We optimize for being your provider for a decade — not for closing one big upsell. The pricing model and the team-retention model both reflect that.
